Get to Know the Interfaith Immigration Coalition (IIC)

“Everything we do is rooted in our faith traditions”

Washington, DC – This is the first in a series of “snapshots” on the Interfaith Immigration Coalition (IIC) and its member organizations. Each week, we will introduce a different member of the IIC. Today, we start with the broader coalition.

Who They Are: The Interfaith Immigration Coalition (IIC) is made up of 53 national, faith-based organizations coming together across theological traditions with a common call to seek just policies that lift up the God-given dignity of every individual. We work to protect the rights, dignity, and safety of all refugees and migrants. (http://www.interfaithimmigration.org / @interfaithimm)

What They Do: The IIC has been educating and advocating for immigrant and refugee rights since 2007. Different IIC members have expertise on various issues such as interior enforcement, refugees, border issues and external enforcement, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Administration actions, federal, state, and local policies, and grassroots engagement.

Where They Operate: Based in Washington, DC, the IIC has grassroots connections in every state in the United States and many countries across the globe.

Core Value: The diverse faith traditions of IIC member groups all support a call to welcome the stranger and love our neighbors.
