As the administration wrongfully and immorally uses the COVID-19 pandemic as a guise to dismantle asylum protections, we must raise our voices to hold the administration accountable to restoring asylum protections.
The Interfaith Immigration Coalition sent a letter in support of the American Dream and Promise Act to the entire U.S. Senate and House. The letter was signed by over 4,500 people of faith from all fifty states and the District of Columbia.
The Trump administration proposed yet another rule to gut the U.S. asylum system, a sweeping effort in a long line of restrictions and bans. The goal is to end asylum in the United States administratively, without an act of Congress, and keep people fleeing violence and murder in harm’s way.
